Wix form notifications not working on your phone or in Wix Inbox

Reviewed October 24, 2026 · White Dot

Wix can tell you about a new form submission in three places: an email, a push alert from the Wix app on your phone, and a message in Wix Inbox. Each one is set up separately, so one can work while another doesn't. For missing emails, use our checklist for missing notification emails. This guide covers the phone and Inbox.

No push alert on your phone

  1. In your phone's own settings, allow notifications for the Wix app. Where this is depends on your phone.
  2. In the Wix app, go to your site, tap your profile icon at the top, then Notification Settings under App Settings.
  3. If you have more than one site, pick the one with the form.
  4. Turn on Allow Push Notifications, then check the switch next to the forms or Inbox notifications you want.

When you turn a notification off in the Wix app, it asks how long to mute it for. If alerts stopped on their own, a mute period you set earlier may still be running.

Inbox and chat alerts don't show in the badge on the Wix app icon. They appear on the Inbox icon at the bottom of the app.

Submissions don't show in Wix Inbox

  • On old Wix forms, Inbox alerts aren't created for you. Open the form's automation (in Automations, under App automations), add a second action, choose Show in Inbox, and keep the automation active.
  • On new forms, open the automation's Show in Inbox action and check whether Mute inbox notifications is on. That option stops the pop-up alerts in your dashboard.
  • A team member who can't see the messages needs Wix Inbox permissions in Roles & Permissions.
  • Each person can switch dashboard alerts for new Inbox messages on or off in Notification Preferences in the dashboard.

Alerts stopped after a change

  • A duplicated form is a new form. It sends no alerts until you add it to an automation.
  • Changing your Wix account email doesn't change who the form's automation notifies.
  • Automations are saved in Wix Automations, separately from your site. Publishing the site doesn't publish automation changes, so check the automation itself is saved and active.

If the form itself seems broken, start with finding the step that fails.

Test it

Send a test submission with a name such as "Alert test 24 Oct". You should then see it in your submissions, as a push alert on your phone and in Wix Inbox, depending on what you set up. The automation's activity log shows whether it ran.
