Slack alerts for Wix form submissions: Lead Guard, Zapier or Wix's own tools
Reviewed · White Dot
Wix emails you when someone submits a form. If you'd like a Slack message too, in case an email lands in spam or never arrives, here are three ways to set it up.
We make Lead Guard. Where Zapier or Wix's own tools are the better pick, we say so.
Which one to pick
- If you get fewer than about 100 submissions a month and already use Zapier, its free plan will do it.
- If you're comfortable with webhooks, Wix Automations can post to Slack itself, with no other service.
- If you want to set it up from your Wix dashboard for a flat monthly price, and keep visitors' answers out of Slack, use Lead Guard.
Side by side
| Lead Guard | Zapier | Wix Send HTTP request | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Setup | Install it from the Wix App Market, paste a Slack incoming-webhook URL and send a test alert. | Sign up for Zapier and build a Zap from Wix's "Form submission" trigger to a Slack message. | In Wix Automations, add a Send HTTP request action that posts to a Slack incoming webhook. Wix says it's meant for advanced users. |
| Where alerts go | Slack only. | Slack or many other apps. | Any service that accepts web requests. |
| What the alert contains | The form name, the time and a link to your Wix submissions. It doesn't include what the visitor typed. | Whatever fields you map, including the visitor's answers. | Whatever you put in the request body. |
| Checking delivery | Each alert shows Delivered, Failed or Unknown in the app. | Zap history in your Zapier account. | Wix automation run logs. |
| Price | $7.99 per site per month after a 7-day free trial. | Free plan: 100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps. Paid plans from $19.99/month billed annually, or $29.99 billed monthly. | No other service needed. It runs in your site's Automations. |
| Limits | Up to 500 alerts a month per site. | Each Slack message uses one task. | You build and maintain the request yourself. |
When to skip Lead Guard
- You want the visitor's answers in Slack. Lead Guard keeps them in Wix on purpose; Zapier or an HTTP request can send them.
- You need alerts somewhere other than Slack, such as Microsoft Teams or your CRM. Lead Guard only does Slack.
Lead Guard makes sense if you don't want another account to manage or a webhook to build. It also suits you if you'd rather keep visitors' details out of Slack and want one screen that shows whether each alert got through.
View Lead Guard on the Wix App Market (7-day free trial, then $7.99/month).
Whichever you choose
Keep your Wix email notifications on and treat Slack as the backup. Then send a test submission with made-up details and check it shows up in both places. If the email doesn't come through, go through our notification email checklist.
Treat a Slack webhook URL like a password. Anyone who has it can post to your channel, so keep it out of public pages and shared documents.
