Wix form notification doesn't show what the person wrote

Reviewed October 11, 2026 · White Dot

If your notification only says you have a new message and links back to your dashboard, the automation isn't putting the submission into the email. You can change that in the automation's Send an email action.

Add the form fields to the email

  1. Open Automations and edit the automation for your form.
  2. Select the Send an email action and send it to your own address or your team.
  3. In the email body, insert the form's fields, such as name, email and message, as dynamic values.
  4. Save the automation and make sure it's active.

Still getting the short notice?

Check that you edited the automation attached to this form. Old and new versions of a form can each have their own automation. Wix Inbox notifications are also a separate action from the email, so changing one doesn't change the other.

Test it

Submit the form once with values you'll recognize, such as "Field test" in the message, and check that the email shows each field.

Everyone on the recipient list will see what customers type, so check who receives the email before you add their details to it.

To change who receives it, see how to change who gets Wix form notification emails.
