How to change who gets Wix form notification emails
Reviewed · White Dot
If you can't find where to change the address that gets your Wix form notifications, look in Automations. The notification is a separate automation with a Send an email action. It isn't a setting inside the form editor.
Changing your Wix account email doesn't update automations you already have. Each one has to be edited.
Change the recipient
- In your site's dashboard, open Automations.
- Find the automation for your form. It's usually named after the form, or its trigger is "Form submitted" for that form. Older forms sometimes have one that Wix created for you.
- Hover over it, click More Actions, then Edit.
- Select the Send an email action and click Show additional settings.
- Under Recipients, click Edit, choose who should get the email, then click Apply.
- Save the automation and make sure it's active.
You can send the notification to site collaborators or to other addresses. Wix's guide says an address that isn't a collaborator has to be added as a contact on your site first.
Why the old address still gets emails
- The form has more than one automation. Old and new versions of a form can each have their own, so check every automation that starts when that form is submitted.
- The old address is still in a collaborator role you selected. Check who has that role in Roles & Permissions.
- A mailbox forwards the emails. If the old inbox forwards to the new one, the extra copies come from the forward, not from Wix.
Test the change
Submit the form once with a test name such as "Recipient test" and an email address you control. Check the new inbox, including spam. If nothing arrives, open the automation's run log for that time and look at the Send an email step.
If the step was sent but nothing arrived, use our checklist for missing notification emails.
